Back Country Basics! 
Weekend Wilderness Clinic $465/person. (max 4) You have seen the beautiful pictures of our National Parks and places, now learn the necessary skills to explore them on your own. This weekend in the wilderness will experientially educate and provide feedback on information and skill acquisition. Topics introduced will enable participants to explore the wilderness confidently, safely and with a philosophy of conservation and exploration. Curriculum includes trip and menu planning, equipment needs, use and care; orienteering, bear awareness, lightening safety, personal hygiene, Leave NoTrace practices and expedition behavior. This course takes place on a hiking expedition in Pisgah National Forest, however, distances are taken into consideration to allow for the instruction and practice of back country skills. Two night, three day experiential event. Pretrip meeting is held Thursday night prior to trip, 6:00- 7:30pm or by special arrangement.
Flat water to Whitewater!
Full Day Clinic $175 single or $275 double. Allow Pisgah Adventures to take you from the lake and roll practice to the wave train and the combat roll! Spend the day on moving water to develop skills like eddy turns and peel outs, the high and low brace, all required skills for successful river running. In the morning we'll cover such topics and down stream V's, eddy lines and the difference between holes and waves. Other topics include throw ropes, picking lines in rapids and the rapid classification system. Trip does NOT include shuttle, lunch or snack. Boats, skirts, PFD's, paddle and helmet maybe "demo-ed" for an additional $35.00
Kayak Touring and Risk Management
Join us on a local lake or section 6 of the French Broad as we discuss and practice Kayak Touring. The day is focused on insrtuction but does include some paddling time on the lake or 3.5 hours on the river. Learn proper hign and low angle strokes as well as when to use them. Important self rescue techniques like the Paddle Float assist, and the Stir-up technique provide the participant with self reliance techniques and the confidence for long days on the water. Partner or boat assisted rescues as well as environmental prepardness rounds out the skills. Equipment available. $150 single or $235 double.
Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing 
Whether you are taking it outdoors for the first time or just want to improve your site management give Pisgah Adventures a call. Our trained and experienced guides can show you the ropes! We program out of Table Rock, Looking Glass, Crowder's Mountain and Picken's Nose. One day clinics or weekend trips for individuals, couples, scout merit badges or youth groups.
